So, I had this blog post prepped ages ago, but then got caught up in wedding season. I’m excited to finally share it with you!
Dawn and Dominique were married at the University Club at UVic in mid-July. One of the things that stood out the most to me was their style (and the second was the dancing, but we’ll get to that later). Dawn and her daughter had gorgeous floral crowns made by Poppies, which I later learned is a Ukrainian tradition. The crowns were perfectly complimented by colourful bouquets and bridesmaids (and groom’s woman) dresses. The flower girl was a bit grumpy at first, which led to some adorable pouty photos, but she perked up on the dance floor.
The reception was full of funny and touching toasts and even some singing, including the bride singing to the groom, which had more than a few people crying. The dance floor opened with a Ukranian dance troop performance followed by parent dances and a choreographed first dance. The couple’s dancer friends tore up the dance floor along with their families, especially the formerly grumpy flower girl. Dawn and Dom later made a costume change and wowed the crowd with a salsa performance. This day was so joyful and vibrant, which I think comes through well in the photos. I’ll get back to editing and let you enjoy the images.
