The wedding season has ended and I’m finally caught up on my editing, so it’s time to blog my summer weddings. The summer season kicked off to a great start at the beginning of July with Lauren and Ben’s wedding at St. Ann’s auditorium and the CFB wardroom. You might remember their documentary engagement session from last year.
Ben works in politics (and frankly is a bit obsessed with them) and they met while Lauren was volunteering for an event, so of course, they had to bring a bit of politics into the wedding in the form of campaign button favours. They also had a campaign hashtag, and photos of the buttons were soon all over twitter. I’d say the campaign was a success.
I think my favourite part of the wedding was when Ben saw Lauren walking down the aisle with her dad. He looked really emotional, turned a bit red, and kept repeating “wow” over and over.
These two spent a lot of time socializing with their guests during the reception, rather than spending the night on the dance floor, but they also danced with each other quite a few times throughout the night. There was also some line dancing (video proof from DJ Jeremy Baker) and Ben and the groomsmen sang along to Bruce Springsteen. After hanging out on the patio for a while, Lauren and Ben came running in to dance to “Forever” by Jesse and the Rippers. Yep, these guys are awesome.
