Ok, ok, I’m really late with my best of 2017 post. Last year was crazy, in a good way, and I didn’t have time to blog most of my weddings until early this year. So, now it’s time to share my favourites and update my portfolio. As usual, my best of is not actually my best work, but it’s made up of the photos that I love the most and that my ideal client will also love the most.
Some of my favourite things of the year: cats at weddings (or at least at the getting ready), new twists on old wedding games, couples doing sweet things for their grandparents or children, dance floors that were absolutely bananas, heartfelt elopements and intimate weddings, and second photographers who make the day easier and more fun while taking some awesome images for my clients.
Despite trying to limit the number of weddings I took on per month, I ended up with a crazy August/September when I forgot that a month doesn’t just go from the first to thirty-first. I also photographed weddings from Victoria to Qualicum Beach, some in the same weekend, and two unintentional triple headers. It was a wild ride, but I don’t regret it, because all of my clients were amazing. And going forward, I’m taking on fewer weddings so I can offer a better experience for everyone.
Looking at all these fun and emotional moments makes me really excited for this year, which is already underway. For more backstory on some of these, check out my instagram where I write about individual images, or scroll back on the blog for full weddings and sessions.
