Rebecca and Graham travelled from Saskatoon with their families to have a lovely, intimate wedding at Abigail’s Hotel (which is one of my favourite wedding venues). I was lucky enough to meet them a couple of days before the wedding. They were so cute, talking about how big of a city Victoria seemed compared to Saskatoon. It’s nice to be able to meet an out-of-town couple before the wedding day, to have a bit of a chat about the wedding and about themselves. I could tell these two were fun and easy going, and it turns out their families were pretty awesome too.
I’m always so happy to take photos of the bride and her girls getting ready at Abigail’s, where the rooms are gorgeous and the window light is stunning. I think I may have over-delivered on pre-ceremony photos here, but I couldn’t help myself. Becca was such a beautiful bride, with her gorgeously detailed Maggie Sottero dress and lacy veil. I loved the colours of the bridesmaids dresses and flowers too – so perfect for spring. Graham looked very handsome in his tux as well. They even took a horse-drawn carriage ride after the ceremony before returning for cake and champagne.
We all headed out to Beacon Hill Park for the portrait session. As my assistant and I arrived at the petting zoo, Becca and Graham were checking out this old fashioned police car. I’m still not really sure what was going on that day, but they ended up getting a ride around the park in the car. Lucky ducks. We eventually wandered over to the big stone bridge, where we ran into another bridal party wearing the exact same colour bridesmaids dresses. Beacon Hill is always super popular for photos, though this was actually my first time doing wedding portraits there.
Thanks so much for having me document your wedding day, Becca and Graham. It was lovely meeting you and I’m looking forward to putting together a gorgeous album for you.
