I headed out to Sooke again last weekend to photograph Brianne and Chris’s wedding. I was really excited because I took their engagement photos a few weeks ago and they were both a lot of fun to hang out with. Plus, Brianne’s family owns a fantastic property out there. I got to shoot both the guys and girls before the ceremony this time, which was fun but a bit hectic. It was great to see their families come together. The ceremony took place in the theatre at Edward Milne school, which they had decorated beautifully. I was really impressed with how they dressed up the reception at the Legion as well. Tons of little white Christmas lights created a perfect, winter wedding atmosphere.
It was rather cold, but the girls braved it in their sleeveless dresses. I always feel bad for the guys having to wear suits in the hot summer days, but this day was the opposite. We still managed to get a bunch of great portraits of the family and wedding party, even after the sun went down around 5pm.
