Finally catching up on some blogging with Courtenay and Patrick’s gorgeous backyard wedding in Gordon Head. Remember them from their rainy day engagement back in March? Courtenay’s gorgeous smile was even bigger on her wedding day. She started the day off at Shampoo Hair Bar with her sister and best girl friends. I loved the colourful look and laid-back atmosphere of the salon. It was sweet watching the interactions between the girls, which foreshadowed the affectionate and loving mood of the rest of the wedding.
Courtenay and Patrick did a first look in her parents backyard with their best friends and families watching from the balcony. Then we headed to a nearby beach for some portraits and a few couple portraits at the yacht club. The excitement was building as we arrived at her aunt’s house in Gordon Head where the guests eagerly awaited. The ceremony was adorable and contained some little rituals to involve their family and friends (sand ceremony and little glass pieces to add to the sand jar).
Everything was just gorgeous from the wedding arch built by the groom and others to the ocean view and the fresh-picked flowers to the amazing dessert table. After some heart-felt speeches by family and friends, a cute rendition of the shoe game, and the cake cutting, most of the guests headed to the tea house to dance the night away, where the floor was literally bouncing with the energy.
