I wasn’t sure what to expect at Lacey and Kerrie’s August wedding, since we hadn’t met in advance. I was pleasantly surprised by a bride with a very fun and funky sense of style, the coolest bouquet of fake flowers ever, and a totally sweet wedding party. We were also, not so pleasantly, surprised with rain for their Wednesday wedding. The rain moved the ceremony into the greenhouse at Starling Lane Vineyard, which was still beautiful, though it restricted our movement a bit. But Gwen and I were really excited about the fog that rolled in for their Elk Lake portraits. The weather perfectly suited their personal style, and the couple seemed too happy to even notice the rain.
Lacey’s smile was the perfect symbol for this day – so full of joy and unrestrained happiness. I love the moment she saw Kerrie while walking down the aisle: nervousness at first, but a huge grin breaking out as soon as she saw him. The groom and crowd’s reaction mirrored her own. Such a fitting representation of the day.
