Marla and Scott got married at St. Ann’s Chapel, with a reception at the Union Club, back in May. In her initial e-mail to me, Marla said “The idea is to have a wedding that is elegant but relaxed, with lots of family love and some fun on the dance floor (the can can and cossack dancing are mandatory at [my family’s] weddings).” That was the perfect description, with their sophisticated style and laid back personalities. And yes, dance they did. There was a ton of energy on the dance floor and some impressive moves from the many kids, including some amazing breakdancing.
Gwen and I spent most of the reception being followed around by a little girl with a camera (future wedding photographer?) and sometimes her sister, which you’ll see later in the post. As I was grabbing something from my bag around 11pm, Marla came up and said, “are you still here? Go home and get some rest!” We were having too much fun; the day just flew by.
