I loved Megan and Devin’s sweet, fun wedding at Sea Cider. There was so much love among their family and friends, and of course, the adorable bride and groom. I especially loved the sweetness between the bride and bridesmaid, perfectly captured in the photo of them in the field later on in this post. Megan and Devin exchanged the sweetest vows that had everyone crying including the couple. I’m paraphrasing, but here’s my favourite part of Devin’s vows: “I promise to always love you…” long dramatic pause to hold back tears “even when I don’t like you very much”, followed by laughter all around. Several guests gave heartfelt speeches per the instructions: “1)Ring cowbell, 2) Stand on stool, 3) Make heartfelt speech” – I didn’t see anything about wearing the cowbell, but the toast-makers just couldn’t resist.
The details for this wedding were so beautiful and were created with care by the couple, their guests, and the amazing women at Verbena Floral Design (the Sea Cider staff also do an incredible job of pulling everything together and making it perfect). When they arrived, the boys and family set to hanging paper lanterns from the ceilings, making me rather nervous for the groom on the top step of a ladder. The bride and groom put together the coolest guestbook I’ve ever seen: a clothesline (working thanks to Devin’s engineering savvy), on which guests could pin notes written on paper t-shirts and shorts, embedded in an amazing field of moss, rocks, and flowers. Dessert consisted of more than a dozen pies baked by different guests and displayed on super cute pie stands. I think everyone filled up on pie that night. I also have to say that I loved Megan’s dress, which was handmade by an Etsy seller and looked amazing on her.
I had so much fun meeting you and photographing your wedding, Megan and Devin. Thanks again for an awesome night.
