Now that things are settling down a bit (well, slightly) for the winter, I’m going to try to catch up on blogging a bit. This wedding is from August 11th and the bride and groom have had their images and slideshow for months now. I’m excited to finally share it with the rest of you.
You may remember Nicole and Andrew from their gorgeous engagement session. One of my photographer friends commented that my posing was really good for that session. Well, they pretty much posed themselves. This trend continued on the wedding day when I learned that Nicole is the biggest mug for the camera on earth – I think the humongous dress may have had something to do with it. With the biggest dress I’ve ever seen and super long blonde hair, you’d think Nicole was a bit of a princess, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Nicole and Andrew are both extremely nice people with lots of really sweet friends and family. Nicole doesn’t take herself too seriously, hence all of the crazy faces for the camera while she was getting ready. What I want to know is how she still looks hot while posing ridiculously.
The wedding took place at Nicole’s family property on Galiano Island. My assistant, Gwen, and I got to spend a relaxing weekend at a sweet little bed and breakfast where they delivered homemade bread and muffins daily. This oceanside wedding continued that chilled out vibe of the island life with a lot of mingling and games throughout an openly scheduled afternoon. They even had their dog as the ring bearer (along with an overly-dramatic fainting leaf boy).
Nicole’s crazy huge dress made everything more fun from the portraits to the first dance, and then she switched into a cute short dress for the rest of the dancing. Andrew and Nicole had some killer swing dancing moves, which went perfectly with lots of other great dancers including the kids. Andrew surprised Nicole with some fireworks after the first dance and managed not to catch any trees on fire.
Thanks for having me photograph your wedding, Nicole and Andrew. We had an amazing weekend.
